BUILT FOR / LOCAL SERVICES

Be the one they call when they search nearby.

Local SEO is how a service business gets found by people searching nearby, in Google's map results, the regular results and now AI answers. Digimetrics checks it in three runs: Local SEO Check reads your name, address, phone and local markup, Keyword Analysis finds the service searches, and AI Mentions Tracker checks 5 AI engines. THE ONE JOB

Be the business people find first when they search nearby.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

What gets in the way for local services.

Illustrative portrait
  • The competitor down the road ranks first

Same service, same area, but they get the call.

  • Not sure what people actually search

“Plumber near me”, “emergency plumber”, “boiler repair”? Guessing costs months.

  • People ask AI for recommendations

“Who’s the best electrician in…?” is now asked to ChatGPT, not just Google.

How do I rank in Google Maps?

Google's map results lean on three things: how relevant your Business Profile is to the search, how close you are to the searcher, and how well known your business is (reviews, links and mentions). You control the first and third.

Your website feeds that picture. Google cross-checks the name, address and phone on your site against your Google Business Profile, so a different suite number or an old phone number on the contact page weakens it. Local SEO Check (20 seconds to 1.5 minutes) reads your home or contact page and tells you whether Google can read your name, address and phone, whether they match your Business Profile, and whether you have a map embedded, LocalBusiness schema, listed service areas and reviews markup.

The profile itself is still yours to run: choose the most specific primary category, add every service, post photos of real jobs and reply to every review. Our local SEO guide walks through each field.

  • Consistent details: the same name, address and phone on your site, your profile and the main directories
  • LocalBusiness schema: generate it with the Schema Generator in a few seconds, then paste it into your site
  • Reviews: ask after every finished job; the steady flow matters more than a one-off push
  • Service area pages: one per town you really serve, with real detail, not the same page with the town name swapped

Local SEO for service area businesses: what changes when you go to the customer

If you work at the customer's address (plumbing, HVAC, cleaning, landscaping), you can hide your street address on Google and list service areas instead. Your website then has to do more of the work of showing where you operate.

A storefront business gets a strong location signal for free. A service area business does not, so the service pages carry it: name the towns and neighborhoods, mention jobs you have done there, and list the area on the contact page. Local SEO Check flags whether service areas are listed at all.

Seasonality matters too. Searches for AC repair, furnace tune-ups, gutter cleaning or snow removal rise and fall with the weather, so get each seasonal page fixed a couple of months ahead of its peak. Keyword Analysis shows the monthly volume for each service phrase, and Rank Checker shows your position by city, on mobile if you choose.

Is local SEO dead now that people ask AI?

No. AI assistants answer "who is the best electrician near me?" using the same sources local SEO builds: your website, your reviews and the directories that list you. Local SEO is how you get into those answers.

What has changed is that there are now two places to show up. A customer may never see the map pack if ChatGPT or Google's AI Overview names three businesses first. AI Mentions Tracker asks GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overview the questions your customers ask, for example "emergency plumber in Denver open now", and shows whether you were named and which sites the answers cited.

Those cited sites are usually review platforms, local directories and trade associations. If a competitor appears on them and you do not, you have a clear list of profiles to claim. For more, read how to get recommended by ChatGPT.

How much does local SEO cost for a small business?

Doing it yourself with Digimetrics costs from $31 a month billed annually on Starter (3 projects, 25 tracked keywords), and the first 7 days are free. Local SEO services that do the work for you cost more because you pay for their time.

Most local businesses do not need much software. A monthly routine of one Local SEO Check, rank checks on your top service-and-town phrases and a quarterly AI Mentions run fits comfortably inside Starter. If you would rather hand it off, the same reports tell you whether an agency's work is moving anything.

Trade-specific notes: see the pages for plumbers, HVAC companies and contractors and home services.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK

Frequently asked questions

Still unsure? Email support@digimetrics.ai and a person will reply.

What is the best local SEO tool for a service business?

One that checks your website's local signals, your rankings by town and whether AI assistants name you. Digimetrics does all three: Local SEO Check reads your name, address, phone and local markup, Rank Checker shows positions by city and device, and AI Mentions Tracker checks five AI engines.

How do I get my local business to show up first on Google?

Keep your Google Business Profile complete and active, make your website's name, address and phone match it exactly, add LocalBusiness schema, build one strong page per main service, and collect reviews after every job. Then check rankings monthly to see what moved.

Can I check rankings for my city or suburb?

Yes. Rank Checker lets you pick Google, Bing or Yahoo, a country and an optional city, plus mobile. It shows your real position for each keyword, or that you are not in the top 100.

Do I need Google Business Profile access?

No. Digimetrics analyses public information. Local SEO Check can compare your site against the name, address and phone you type in as they appear on your profile. Connecting Search Console or GA4 adds your own data at no extra cost, but it is optional.

Does ChatGPT recommend local businesses?

Yes, when asked, and it draws on websites, reviews and directories to do it. AI Mentions Tracker shows how often you are named, how early, in what tone and which sources the answers cited, so you know where to get listed.

Will it guarantee more calls?

No. No tool can guarantee rankings, calls or revenue. Digimetrics shows the evidence and ranks the fixes; results also depend on your area, your competitors and the work you put in.

How much does it cost?

Free for 7 days, no card. Starter is $31 a month billed annually ($39 monthly) for 3 projects and 25 tracked keywords, which covers a monthly local routine for most single-location businesses.
