AI MENTIONS TRACKER

What’s your brand’s share of AI answers?

An AI visibility tracker shows how often AI assistants name your brand when buyers ask for recommendations. Digimetrics AI Mentions Tracker asks up to 10 buyer questions across five engines (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overview) and reports mention rate, sentiment, citation rate, position and the sources cited. A run takes 2 to 5 minutes.

WHAT YOU GET BACK

Your answer, in four numbers.

  • 80%Mention rateHow many of the 15 answers named you. Sample: 12 of 15.
  • 67%Positive sentimentOf the answers that named you, how many spoke well of you.
  • 67%Citation rateHow often an answer linked back to your website.
  • #1.4PositionHow early you’re named. #1 means first.

Then it shows you the gap.

Every question, engine by engine. In the sample, one question (“what features should I look for?”) was answered without the brand by Gemini and Perplexity. Visibility there: 38%. That’s the page to write next.

    Type your brand name

The way people say it. Add your website so it can spot when an answer cites you, and pick the market to ask from.

  2. 2

Use your buyers’ questions, or ours

Enter up to 10 real customer questions, or leave it blank and get three suggested ones for your category.

  3. 3

    Read the verdict

Four headline numbers, the sites the engines cited (yours or someone else’s), and a grid of every answer.

Included on every plan, and free to try for 7 days.

IF YOU’VE EVER ASKED

One run answers these.

  • “Does ChatGPT recommend my brand?”
  • “Which AI engines mention my competitors instead of me?”
  • “Which websites do AI answers cite in my category?”
  • “Is my AI visibility getting better or worse?”

How to track brand mentions in ChatGPT and the other AI engines

You can ask ChatGPT yourself, but one answer from one engine tells you little. An AI visibility tracker asks the same buyer questions across several engines, scores every answer the same way and repeats it over time.

AI answers vary from engine to engine and from one day to the next, so a single screenshot is an anecdote, not a measurement. AI Mentions Tracker asks each question to all five engines at once: three questions give you 15 answers, ten give you 50. Every answer is scored on the same four measures, so you can compare this month with last month.

The engines are named precisely because they behave differently. GPT-4o is the model behind ChatGPT. Claude is Anthropic's assistant. Gemini is Google's assistant. Perplexity is an AI answer engine that cites sources. Google AI Overview is the AI summary at the top of Google results. Your brand can be visible in one and absent from another, which is exactly what the answer grid shows.

How do I measure my brand's share of voice in AI answers?

Use mention rate as your AI share of voice: the share of answers, across all five engines, that name you. Run the same questions for your main competitor's brand to compare.

In the official tutorial's sample (fictional brand Brightpath), 12 of 15 answers named the brand, a mention rate of 80%. That headline hid a gap: one question averaged only 38% visibility, because two engines answered it without the brand. The total looked healthy; the gap was where the work was.

Keep the question set fixed between runs. Change the questions and you change the measurement. Our glossary defines share of voice, and the guide on how to measure AI visibility covers building a question set that matches real buyer searches.

Why does ChatGPT recommend my competitor and not me?

AI assistants recommend the brands they find described clearly and often in the sources they trust. If a competitor appears on more of those sources, or their pages answer the buyer's question more directly, they get named first.

The sources list in your report is the clue. It shows which sites the engines cited for your questions: review sites, comparison articles, directories, your rivals' own pages. If your competitor is on those sites and you are not, that is the gap to close.

The second cause is your own page. If it says "powerful features" where a rival says exactly what the product does, AI has less to quote. AI Page Rewrite rewrites a page with a one-sentence answer, a comparison table, specifics and an FAQ block for the exact buying questions. The third cause is access: if AI crawlers are blocked or cannot read the site, check it with the AI visibility checker.

  • Not on the cited sources: earn reviews and listings on the sites the report names
  • Vague page copy: rewrite with specifics AI can quote
  • Blocked or unreadable: check AI-bot access, llms.txt and structured data

How to get your brand on ChatGPT (and can you register it?)

There is no form to register a brand with ChatGPT or any other AI assistant. Brands appear in answers when the web describes them clearly, consistently and on sources the engines trust.

Work on three things. Make your own pages easy to quote, with plain answers and real specifics. Be present where your category is discussed, on review sites, directories and comparison articles. Make the site readable by AI crawlers; an llms.txt file is one optional extra for the services that use it. Then measure with AI Mentions Tracker to see whether anything moved. Our guide on how to get recommended by ChatGPT goes step by step.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK

Frequently asked questions

How can I find out if ChatGPT recommends my brand?

Run AI Mentions Tracker with your brand name and the questions your buyers ask. It puts them to GPT-4o (the model behind ChatGPT) and four other engines, then shows which answers named you, how early and whether they linked to your site.

What tool tracks brand mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity?

AI Mentions Tracker checks all four plus Google AI Overview in one run: five engines, up to 10 questions, scored on mention rate, sentiment, citation rate and position.

Which AI engines does it check?

Five: GPT-4o (ChatGPT), Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overview.

How long does a run take?

About two to five minutes. You can ask up to 10 questions per run across all five engines, and you see what the run includes before you start.

What is the best AI visibility tracker for a small business?

One that covers the major engines, gives you numbers you can repeat each month and points to the fix, at a price that suits occasional runs. AI Mentions Tracker is included on every plan, and new accounts can try it free for 7 days with no card.

How often should I check my brand visibility in AI search?

Monthly suits most brands: AI answers shift, and a monthly run with the same questions shows the trend. Check again after you publish or rewrite a page aimed at one of your questions.

Will this make AI assistants recommend me?

No tool can guarantee that. It shows where you are named and where you are missing, and points to the fixes, such as AI Page Rewrite for the page that should be quoted.

Do I need to connect any accounts?

No. It needs your brand name, plus your website if you want it to spot citations.
